Here comes the sun

Today we as the opportunity to tour the city. It was an amazingly sunny and unseasonably warm day. Remember we are headed into winter here and today with the sun shining we were close to 70. What a treat. Blue skies and sunshine along with the company today made a fantastic morning. I found myself humming "here comes the sun" quite a bit today. I may or may not have sung it out loud as well. I'll have to get back to you on that. We went back to the municipal building to tour it and learn a little about its history.
And after, we went to the cathedral right next door. Something interesting to note is there is no separation of church and state, so the church is maintained by the city. It's beautiful as well.
After the church we went to the center of the plaza where there are statues and memorials of important men and women for the town. Notice the blue skies!
And one more stop to see a museum where there are some important city artifacts. The wedding dresses pictured here are so beautiful in person.
Our final stop this morning was to a private catholic school in the area. We had a panel discussion with the graduating class. They were able to ask us questions as well as answer some of our questions for them. The best part though, as Paddy said, was after it was over when we got to talk directly to the children. I much prefer smaller groups because that allows us to exchange ideas more personally. Allie enjoyed the school too. She flew right over and perched in a plant.
This afternoon we are going to meet with the newspaper and then we will go to a dairy manufacturer. Tonight is our rotary presentation for the club. Fingers crossed that all goes well. :0)
