Meeting the Mayor

In between our visits to schools and other facilities today, we had an oppotunity to meet with the Mayor of 9 de Julio. This city is about the same size as York, Pa with approximately the same size population. In a lengthy discussion, the Mayor shared the concerns he has about governing a city this size, many of which reflect the same issues faced by our small cities at home. 

We were grateful for the time the Mayor took out of his schedule and for the gifts he gave us to remember the city. In return we presented him with one of our pins showing the combined flags of USA and Argentina. In the picture the Mayor is to the right and in the center is the President do the Rotary Club of 9 de Julio who are our hosts. Thanks to all.
